ALBAWABA - in Gaza denies that Mohammed Deif, the leader of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, died in an Israeli bombing on the Mawasi district in southern Gaza. Al-Hayya accused Netanyahu of lying to announce a triumph in an exclusive Al Jazeera interview.
Al-Hayya said Netanyahu, "Mohammed Deif hears you now and mocks your lies." He accused the Israeli Prime Minister of trying to disrupt prisoner swap and peace talks, insulting foreign mediators. Al-Hayya said Netanyahu has struggled in Gaza for 10 months and wants a triumph before his US Congress visit.
International mediators should understand Netanyahu's manipulation and threat to regional stability, Hamas said. Al-Hayya said mediators are waiting for Netanyahu's answer to "minor" problems from the current round of discussions. He stressed that Netanyahu's engagement is key to a meaningful accord.
Al-Hayya contrasted US President Joe Biden with Netanyahu, stating the latter is not interested in releasing Israeli detainees or seeking a peaceful conclusion. He noted that many of the surviving Israeli captives in Gaza had been slain in Israeli bombings and that the resistance organization would only accept a genuine ceasefire and fair agreement.
