A week of floods and landslides in northern Thailand has now claimed 146 lives in 26 provinces and another 10 people are missing, authorities said Thursday.
The disaster has caused damage to homes and property estimated at 580 million baht (12 million dollars), the Interior Ministry said. A total of 531,614 villagers have been affected and some 6,617 people were evacuated.
The floods inundated nearly 183,000 acres (73,200 hectares) of farmland, and 38,057 cattle died.
Worst hit was Phetchabun province where at least 115 villagers died when seven villages were washed away in landslides that swept down the Kor mountain in Lom Sak district.
