ALBAWABA- In a new update, the Sudanese government confirmed that the death toll from the massacre committed by the Rapid Support Forces in the village of Wad Al-Noura, Al-Jazira state, has increased to 200, including 35 children.
Notably, in the early hours of Wednesday, June 5th, the village of Wad Al-Noura in Sudan's Gezira state experienced a devastating attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The militia stormed the peaceful village, indiscriminately opening fire and killing over 200 civilians, including 40 children.
This massacre adds to a series of brutal actions by the RSF in Gezira since December last year, with the civilian death toll now exceeding 4,500. The UN reports that the ongoing conflict has resulted in over 20,000 civilian deaths and displaced more than eight million people, making it the largest displacement crisis globally.
The RSF's deliberate targeting of civilians, including schools and other infrastructure, has put 19 million children at risk of losing access to education. The massacre has sparked widespread condemnation across Sudanese society, highlighting the urgent need for justice and accountability.
The former Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok's "Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces" remained silent, further revealing their alignment with the RSF.
This massacre marks a turning point, galvanizing the Sudanese people's resolve to end the RSF's reign of terror and restore peace and justice to their country.
