ALBAWABA - Horrifying reports emerged from Sudan's Al-Jazirah of a massacre committed by the Rapid Support Forces, where troops stormed the village of Wad Al-Noora in the 24 Al-Qurashi locality of Al-Jazira state killing at least 100 people.
The neighborhood Resistance Committees of Madani released a video of a mass funeral/burial for the victims of the massacre committed against the people of Wad Al-Noora. The video shows the families of the victims mourning their loss, with hundreds gathered to attend the funeral.
The neighborhood committees said in a statement obtained by Sudan Tribune that "the village of Wad Al-Noora witnessed a massacre after the RSF militia attacked it twice, killing up to 100 people".
The statement made clear that the army was "stationed inside Al-Manaqil locality" and that the RSF was responsible for the full-scale killing that took place in the village.
The Resistance Committees of Madani issued a warning early on Wednesday morning on the tight siege that the RSF was enforcing on the village of Wad Al-Noora. They also threatened to storm the town before attacking it, accompanied by an eruption of gunfire.
The attack on Wad Al-Noora, which claimed numerous civilian lives, was described by the National Umma Party as "violent," and it was in protest of the RSF's continued breaches of civilian rights in the villages of the central Sudan state.
Residents of Al-Jazirah are increasingly calling for armed resistance against the RSF's crimes, which have intensified in recent weeks.
Similarly, the Resistance Committees of Al-Hasahisa in Al-Jazirah state claimed that on Saturday night, an RSF unit attacked the village of Wad Al-Amin in the rural region of Abu Ushr, breaking into homes with the purpose of stealing even the smallest amounts of money and property.
The committees underlined that the RSF continues to commit violations against unarmed citizens under the policy of "the protector and the executioner," bringing the fiction of chaos to life as if there were two sides to the problem.
They added, "The RSF’s solution is to join the militia ranks to ward off barbaric attacks, protect the villages from chaos, and expand militarization until Al-Jazira’s communities are fully militarized".
