David Nutter Finds New Muse
Young actress joins the ranks of Jessica Alba and

Renowned Hollywood Director David Nutter has announced that he has found the lead of his new project titled Scarlet. Natassia Malthe will star as title role Scarlet and joins a roster of talented young actresses, including Jessica Alba and Jennifer Garner, as muse to Nutter aka ‘King of Pilot TV’
Nutter has single-handedly been responsible for casting the ‘stars of the future in series such as Dark Angel and Alias through which he launched the careers of Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner and most recently, Lena Headey as the lead in Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Nutter knew that Natassia was the perfect person to bring the character of Scarlet to life. “As soon as the script was finished, I knew Natassia was meant to play Scarlet. She glows with this mysterious beauty. She is flawless on screen. There’s an instinctive beauty about her that you just can’t take your eyes off,” he says.

Of her newest role for TV, Malthe says; “I would be a liar if I claimed I wasn’t intimidated initially,” she admits. “But at the same time, once David insisted so enthusiastically that I was perfect to play the part of Scarlet - and that it was my responsibility to be true to my vision of the role, I really let my inhibitions go and ran with it. I have always been a great admirer of his work and it is a wonderful opportunity for me.”
Malthe was attracted to the role of Scarlet because of her versatility. “On-screen Scarlet is extremely diverse - she can play romance, action, period drama, sci-fi, thriller, each as easily as the other. She is really unpredictable and thought provoking. It’s amazing how many different groups of people from different generations will be attracted to Scarlet.”
