On Saturday, Damascus Radio slammed the US Administration refrain from adopting a decisive position aimed at ending the ongoing Israeli aggression against the occupied Palestinian territories.

In addition, the state-run radio blasted declarations made by US Secretary of State, Colin Powell, which considered presenting a US plan or work program as too early.

The Radio reported Israel’s success, backed by Washington, in preventing the international fact-finding committee to enter the Jenin camp, according to the official Syrian Arab News Agency SANA Saturday.

Furthermore, the radio stressed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad' s recent assertion to US Assistant of Secretary of State, William Burns, that Damascus supports any efforts based on the Madrid terms of reference, the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions as well as the land-for-peace formula.

Any US movement must be based on a “real will”, SANA reported, to end Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's aggression and to place bases for renewing the peace talks, in line with the Madrid principles and the international legitimacy resolutions, the Radio added. (albawaba.com)
