Tishrin daily on Wednesday accused Washington of marginalizing the realities and continuing provocations through announcing new military plans against Iraq at a moment when the Arabs welcomed Security Council resolution 1441, and stressed this question constitutes a flagrant violation of the agreement of the Security Council members and the guarantees presented to Syria.
In its first page editorial, the Syrian paper noted that the objective of these provocations was to push Iraq to refuse the international resolution, and therefore constitutes the long waited pretext for the US to begin its aggression against Baghdad, SANA news agency reported.
Tishrin said it is true that resolution 1441 does not constitute victory for Iraq and the Arabs, but at the same time, it did not give a clear mandate to the U.S to start its aggression.
Meanwhile, Al-Thawra daily on the same day, once more criticized the American plan called "the itinerary" regarding the Palestinian cause, and stressed that the plan’s ideas do not carry any novelty and that they are nothing else but false promises and theoretical words that lack practical measures and guarantees.
The paper further warned against the objectives of this plan, which aim only at foiling the Palestinian Intifada or Uprising, and emphasized that the Arabs and all peace loving people are already fed up with the policy of maneuvers and procrastination.
In addition, the paper stated that any agreement that does not take into consideration the annulment of occupation and the realization of the comprehensive withdrawal would be rejected by all Arabs. (Albawaba.com)
