Daesh has killed at least 2,154 people off the battlefield in Syria since June, a monitor said Tuesday.

Reuters reported the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights urged the UN Security Council to act on the atrocities of the extremist group, pointing toward its mass killings through beheadings, stoning or gunshots in non-combat situations.

The Observatory said in a statement it is continuing its calls to the council for urgent action to stop the murders "despite the deafness of members to the screams of pain of the Syrian people."

The monitor said the number includes civilians, combatants and 126 of Daesh's own members who tried to flee the group or were accused of spying. Observatory Director Rami Abdulrahman said the number is higher than the estimate since it did not include the journalist beheadings, the Jordanian pilot, or the hundreds captured by the group who are still missing.

One of the worst mass murders the group has committed was against the Sunni Sheitaat tribespeople fighting Daesh in the eastern part of Syria. The Observatory said Daesh militants have killed 930 members of the tribe.
