d'pr and d'events have embarked on the first stage of their planned company growth strategy by appointing Jason Leavy in the new position of Commercial Director.
Leavy has more than a decade of media experience in the Middle East, including tenures as a Group Editor at ITP, and more recently as Group Publisher at Motivate Publishing, responsible for titles including Hello! and Jumeirah, and brand extensions such as the Emirates Woman Awards. Previously Leavy has worked as a publisher for Future Publishing, one of the UK's largest consumer magazine companies.
In his role, Leavy will be responsible for the company's brand development and identifying strategic growth opportunities.
Leavy said: "I'm tremendously excited to be joining the company at such a watershed point in its development. It has already rightly established a fantastic reputation based on market-leading client servicing and creativity, and I look forward to playing an integral role in building on that solid foundation.
"I believe that PR is becoming increasingly important for brands, particularly given the growth of digital in this region and the subsequent need to be able to communicate with people across a spectrum of 'touch-points'. This, coupled with our established events expertise, means we are increasingly geared up to deliver a 360-degree solution for clients, enabling them to engage with their audiences in an effective manner that ensures great ROI."
Lucy d'Abo, Managing Director of d'events, said: "Having successfully completed five years, we are now embarking on a renewed mission, vision and strategy to become the most successful integrated agency servicing the Middle East. We are confident that this role will support our goals."
Camilla d'Abo, Managing Director of d'pr, added: "The evolution of the communications sector continues to grow at a rapid pace. We believe that there remains an increasing opportunity for results driven and creative communications solutions and we look forward to sustained growth in the near future."
Established as events management specialists in November 2004 under the d'events brand name, the agency has gone from strength to strength. d'pr was honoured at the inaugural MEPRA awards in November 2009 winning the judges award for Creativity. In 2010 the integrated agency has increased its client base with new PR and Event activities for internationally renowned names including Vertu, Chanel and Mars.
