As Cyprus is approaching accession to the European Union (EU), it is simultaneously devoting its utmost energy for the resolution of the Cyprus problem, Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides said in Nicosia Wednesday.
Upon receiving the credentials of Ambassador of Croatia to Cyprus, Drago Kraljevic, based in Rome, the President said the two countries share many common features, including the bitter experience of war, conflict, devastation and human loss, CNA news agency reported Wednesday.
Echoing the President’s speech, Kraljevic said Croatia and Cyprus share negative experiences due to their recent turbulent history, however this would help contribute to deeper understanding between both nations, and stimulate cooperation, the agency concluded. (Albawaba.com)
