Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides has said the United Nations-led peace talks are facing a deadlock and warned that unless practical solutions on the four main issues, namely governance, security, territory and property - - are found, there will be no settlement.
In addition, the President said that the European Union considered that the Greek Cypriot side maintained a constructive approach at the talks and expected the Turkish Cypriot side to work for a solution within the parameters of the UN decisions in a conciliatory manner, according to Cyprus News Agency.
Speaking upon his return from the EU summit in Seville, Spain, he said he was very pleased with the conclusions of the two-day meeting, which reiterated Brussels' adherence to the timeframe for enlargement. (Albawaba.com
