CyberGuard Corporation, a leading global provider of security solutions that protect the critical assets of the largest and most complex information networks for Global 2000 enterprises and government organizations, has unveiled SG560, a feature-rich, compact, network security and Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity device. SG560 will feature prominently among the range of CyberGuard solutions that will be put on display at GITEX Dubai 2005, the largest IT fair in the region.

Designed to secure small and medium businesses and the small branch offices of larger companies with mixed environments of LAN, mobile and guest users, SG560 provides 120Mbps of firewall throughput, and comes standard with two WAN ports, fail-over capability and traffic shaping (QoS).

"The SG560 provides WAN connectivity and security features normally found only in enterprise-class solutions, thus furthering our vision to provide high-performance, centrally managed security solutions that scale from corporate headquarters down to branch offices and satellite locations," said Sami Mulla, Vice President – Middle East and North Africa, CyberGuard. "SG560 is a cost-effective VPN (Virtual Private Network) endpoint device that can safely connect a remote office to a central office network using secure, industry-standard VPN access methods with hardware-accelerated encryption."

"The solution will be one of the highlights of CyberGuard's participation at GITEX 2005, where our entire range of cutting-edge solutions will be showcased to enable visitors to gain a comprehensive understanding of the competitive edge our solutions provide businesses," Mulla added.

With a powerful firewall, three pre-configured security zones on separate LAN segments and service-based intrusion-detection blocking, the SG560 delivers the blended protection that today's organizations demand to thwart increasingly complex internal and external threats. Besides, it offers unlimited user licensing and is fully compatible with other CyberGuard security appliances as well as other standards-based platforms.

The SG560 can also serve as the head-end device for smaller networks.  With the inclusion of five Fast Ethernet ports, link fail-over and Internet session load balancing as well as multiple security zones, the SG560 can be deployed in a myriad of environments. If the primary broadband connection fails, the SG560 can automatically fail over to a second Internet connection or balance traffic between them, helping businesses realize the full benefits of their network bandwidth. In case of a complete broadband failure, the SG560 can restore connectivity quickly and automatically via a dial-up connection.
