Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defense Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum received Saturday Syrian Minister of Culture Maha Ghaanout, reports said.
Sheikh Mohammad reviewed with his guest the cultural cooperation between the UAE and Syria and the exchange of ideas between Arab countries.
They also discussed ways of boosting the role of Arab cultural institutions with the aim of raising the cultural awareness of Arab youth, according to a report published by the Gulf News Sunday.
Sheikh Mohammed stressed the necessity of protecting and preserving Arab cultural heritage, as well as developing it.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed also received a member of the Canadian Parliament, Walt Lastoka, who attended the inauguration of the Big Five Show.
The two discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and Canada, particularly in the economic and commercial sectors, the Emirates' official news agency (WAM) reported. Lastoka praised the level of economic development witnessed by the UAE in both public and private sectors, noting that Dubai's trade flowed on despite international developments -Albawaba.com
