All 10 Iranian Jews found guilty of spying for Israel by a revolutionary court have asked for their convictions to be thrown out, a judiciary spokesman said Tuesday.

"All of them have filed a request with the prosecutor-general for the verdicts to be annulled," spokesman Hossein-Ali Amiri told state radio. "If the prosecutor decides that the request is valid he will ask the court to hold a new trial."

The men were found guilty in a trial that elicited international condemnation but had their sentences reduced by at least two years each on appeal.

According to the defense, five of the men have said they no longer want lawyers but no reason has been given -- TEHRAN (AFP)
