The Council of Arab Ambassadors, based in Athens, hailed the "Palestinian resistance and their fight to protect their national rights, reported Iran News Agency (IRNA), quoting a statement as saying.

The statement said that the Arab ambassadors "denounced the Israeli barbarity against the Palestinian people and urged the European Union and the international community to put pressure on the Zionist regime to stop the massacre."

Palestine's ambassador to Athens, Abdallah Abdallah, said in a press conference that the council members are to meet Greek Foreign Minister George Papandreou Tuesday to request Greek intervention within the European Union to put pressure on Tel Aviv, said IRNA.

The Council will also meet Greek political leaders to inform them about the situation in Palestine.

"Israel and its friends must realize that it cannot exist in the region with the force of the sword," stressed Abdallah.

Meanwhile, Palestinian and Arab residents of Athens are to hold a march to the Israeli embassy Tuesday to protest the Israeli massacre, according to IRNA - Albawaba.com
