Dubai Construction Company (DCC) recently completed one of its major projects in the Abdali Urban Regeneration Project – the Commerce One building – a commercial complex owned by Juba Development and Investment Company.
Slated to become a landmark commercial center, Commerce One is the first completed project in Abdali, with construction commencing on Dec. 1st, 2007 and taking approximately 30 months to complete. The building extends over a full Abdali block with a total built-up-area of 14,000 square meters. The center allocated 2,700 square meters for retail use, 7,000 for office use and 4,500 as parking.  The project’s team of high-caliber architects is headed by the renowned Italian architect Claudio Nardi, who is known as a true Italian craftsman with a strong passion towards transformation. In his designs, Nardi blends pre-existing traditional elements with progressive forms – a style he again implemented in his design of Commerce One– giving the project an originality emanating from a creative combination of ultra modern design elements and Abdali's historically rich ambiance.
“We are immensely proud of this accomplishment,” commented Wissam Otaky – Jordan Area Manager at DCC. “The completion of Commerce One is a sign that Abdali is taking its intended shape as a revolutionary retail and commercial center. As for Commerce One, the building serves as a shining example of convergence between form and function, offering breathtaking design with intelligent use of space.”
In describing the design of the project, Maher Karram, Construction Manager at DCC, said that the Commerce One raises the bar of modern retail and commercial centers as it was designed and constructed with scalability and sustainability in mind. The building’s use of space allows for diversity and convenience, as it efficiently combines commercial, retail and parking spaces, all the while featuring truly inspiring aesthetic elements.
