cognos selected to dow jones world sustainability index for eighth consecutive year
Cognos is the sole independent performance management vendor selected in worldwide review of corporate sustainability best practices
Cognos® (NASDAQ: COGN) (TSX: CSN), the world leader in business intelligence and performance management solutions, today announced that that it was selected for the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the eighth consecutive year. Cognos is the only independent performance management vendor named to this year’s list.
DJSI World describes corporate sustainability as a “business approach to create long term shareholder value by embracing opportunities and managing risks deriving from economic, environmental and social developments.”
The 2006/2007 Index comprises more than 250 companies representing the top 10 percent of the leading sustainability companies in 57 industry groups across 18 countries. These companies are selected from the largest 2,500 companies by market cap in the Dow Jones Global Indexes.
The annual review of the DJSI family is based on a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, assessing issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate change, supply chain standards and labor practices.
