Cognos honours Middle East partner for excellence in performance management

Cognos (Nasdaq: COGN; TSX: CSN), the world leader in business intelligence and performance management solutions, has announced the winners of its 2006 Global Partner Awards.

At the Partner Summit 2006, Cognos’s annual global partner forum attended by over one hundred partners, BSG, Cognos’s Middle East and Africa partner, won the ‘Rising Star’ MEA award for its innovation, influence, and thought-leadership. BSG has focused on delivering business intelligence solutions and services to customers in the Middle East from 1995 and became a Cognos partner in 2005. Organisations in the region have realised the benefits of business intelligence and performance management systems, and, according to the latest IDC reports, the UAE and Saudi Arabia lead the business intelligence market, which is worth around US $ 25 million. The total Gulf market is worth around US $32-33 million and early adopters making use of BI’s analytical features are engineering much of its double-digit growth in the region.
