In a press conference at Johns Hopkins booth in the Arab Health 06 Exhibition – Clemenceau Medical Center affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine International, and GE Healthcare, announce that they have signed an agreement to install at Clemenceau Medical Center, which opened recently in Beirut, the most powerful diagnostic tool available to Modern Medicine.

This system, the Pet/16-slice CT, applied by GE is used in the non-invasive diagnosis and monitoring of the treatment for almost all types of cancers, neurological conditions and cardiovascular disease.

The powerful images of the internal workings of the body obtained by this Pet/CT are unobtainable by other means and enable physicians to identify abnormalities very early in the progression of a disease. The Pet/CT shows organ function as well as structure and they can reveal disease-related biological change several years before the patients experiences symptoms and long before other imaging techniques are effective. The versatility of this new system allows that medical treatment can be begun sooner leading to a higher chance of success. It also reduces distress to the patient by eliminating the need for invasive diagnostic to the patient and less accurate testing.

Dr. Mounes Kalaawi, Chief Executive Officer of Clemenceau Medical Center, believes that with its latest technology equipment in Nuclear Medicine Division, the CMC Imaging Center will be one of the leading Radiology departments in the Middle East with its latest digital imaging systems available, especially with the newly acquired 64 Slice CT scan from GE with its diagnostic tools that enables performing in addition to whole body scanning, such as Cardiac CT to visualize Heart vessels without Catheterization and Colonography for colon imaging without performing colonoscopy. Dr. Kalaawi added, “This agreement with GE is in addition to a 7 Million Dollar contract CMC signed earlier with GE to install the world newest technology in MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, Densitometry, Flat Panel Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and 4D Ultrasound all linked to a Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS) for a completely Film less Medical Imaging."

Clemenceau Medical Center in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine International is a state-of-the-art medical center in the heart of Beirut, internationally accredited and capable of delivering high quality healthcare services in a pleasant environment to patients from Lebanon and the Middle East. CMC aims to be the creator, applicator and the forerunner of a new healthcare concept in Lebanon and the region.  The Center is a unique health complex with a multipurpose high-tech hospital, fully-equipped with International standards.
