Nine suspected PKK militants have been killed in security operations in eastern Turkey's Mardin and Sirnak provinces Sunday, Turkish military said Monday.
In a statement, the Turkish General Staff said seven militants were killed in southeastern Mardin province’s Nusaybin district.
Two others were killed in a separate operation in the southeastern Sirnak province.
Several weapons were seized during the operations, the statement added.
The Turkish military has been engaged in an intense campaign against PKK militants in the largely Kurdish southeast region of Turkey since a ceasefire fell apart last July.
