The College of Engineering and Computer Science at Abu Dhabi University (ADU) announced the launch of a Cisco Networking Academy in cooperation with Cisco Systems, Inc., which will open its doors in February 2008. It is a much welcomed addition to already existing programs that are all well-suited to equip students with the necessary advanced networking skills needed for the 21st century Information Communication Technology (ICT) professionals.

The Cisco Networking Academy (Netacad) utilizes a blended learning model, integrating face-to-face ‎teaching with a challenging web-based curriculum, hands-on lab exercises and Internet-based assessments. Academy ‎graduates will be prepared for networking and IT-related careers in the public and private sectors, as well as for higher ‎education in engineering, computer science and related fields.
We at the College of Engineering and Computer Science at ADU are very proud to include this new program to our growing college offerings. With a comprehensive curriculum and onsite training program developed by leading education and networking experts, the Cisco Networking Academy Program demonstrates the highly successful alliance among Cisco Systems Inc., educators, governments, leading technology companies, and non-profit organizations,” commented Dr. Aly Nazmy, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a highly successful program, which teaches students to design, build and ‎maintain computer networks. The program will prepare students for industry standard certifications. These certifications are ‎viewed as a valid measure for assessing skills and assure an employer that the certified individual has practical ‎qualifications. The certifications include: Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT®), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA®) and Cisco Certified Network ‎Professional (CCNP®) and they are very valuable additions to any one’s career portfolio.‎
