ALBAWABA - The Philippines says at least 4 Filipino crew members were injured after China's Coast Guard fired a water cannon at a supply boat they were riding.

Following the incident, the boat issued a distress call and was on a resupply mission when a collision happened, causing damage to the boat. Filipino authorities blamed the China Coast Guard for a second collision during a resupply mission.

According to a statement from the National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea, a Chinese Coast Guard vessel collided with a small boat carrying provisions for Filipino troops.

UPDATE

The Philippines announced summoning the Chinese representative over the "aggressive actions" of China's Coast Guard. The Department of Foreign Affairs said it had told the Chinese embassy's deputy chief of mission that the incident earlier Tuesday was "unacceptable".
