US Vice President Richard Cheney, in the framework of a regional tour to discuss such affairs as Iraq and the Middle East, arrived at the Kuwait International airport on Monday.
Earlier on Sunday, the Kuwaiti government welcomed Cheney’s visit. In a statement released, the Kuwaiti cabinet expressed hope that talks between the Kuwaiti and American sides would strengthen peace and stability throughout the region and the world, as well as the war on terrorism, according to KUNA.
In addition, the statement extended hope that the discussions would enrich bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, based on the historic US stance during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
Cheney met on Sunday in Doha with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, discussing bilateral relations, regional developments as well as the situation in the Palestinian Territories, according to QNA. (Albawaba.com)
