The Chairperson of the World Family Conference, Dr. Costra Daisy has hailed the efforts made by Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, wife of the UAE President and Chairperson of the UAE Women's Federation, for advancing women's work.
Speaking at the UNESCO headquarters, where a “World Family Congress” is being held, Dr. Daisy stated that the congress held in Abu Dhabi in 1998 was one of the most successful congresses ever held.
"The congress had the backing of the UAE government and people," she told the international assembly, which also reviewed the question of dialogue amongst civilizations, according to Khaleej Times.
Furthermore, Dr. Daisy also praised the UAE's marriage fund, which, according to her, was a practical approach for developing human resources and maintaining social stability.
The UAE is participating in the congress with a team headed by Mariam Al Roumi, Assistant Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Labor for Social Welfare Affairs. (Albawaba.com)
