CFA Jordan celebrates CFA Day - the 60th anniversary of the founding of the CFA Institute

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Jordan, a Member Society of the US-based CFA Institute, celebrated CFA Day - the 60th anniversary of the founding of the CFA Institute - on the evening of June 12th at the Four Seasons Hotel. Attendees included professionals from the investment industry as well as business leaders and academics. During the week of June 11th, more than 120 societies worldwide celebrate this occasion.

Mr. Sami Nabulsi, President of CFA Jordan, highlighted in his welcoming note the large contributions CFA Institute has made throughout the past sixty years to raise the bar in the investment profession worldwide, and how CFA Jordan is applying these contributions to the local investment industry.

“We are delighted to celebrate the CFA Day with professionals from numerous fields, and look forward to further cooperation with the business and academic communities,” Nabulsi said.

The event’s guest speaker, Mr. Stephen M. Horan, Ph.D., CFA, demonstrated the historical development of the institute, which has 91 thousand members from 134 countries, and the importance of the CFA program in instilling ethical behavior and professional conduct amongst investment professionals.

Speakers including Mr. Mohammad Fayyad, CFA from Capital Bank of Jordan, and Mr. Adel Kasaji, CFA from AB Invest, highlighted the increasing demand in Jordan for CFA charterholders who are qualified to effectively contribute to achieving the goals and objectives of various financial organizations.


In addition, CFA Jordan is proud to announce that a record number of around 100 local CFA candidates recently sat for the CFA examination held on Saturday June 2nd, 2007 at Le Royal Hotel in Amman. The next examination is set to take place in December 2007.
