Joanna Dahdah, a recent graduate from Central St. Martin’s studying Jewellery Design, won the new designer award at ‘London Jewellery Week’ for her debut collection “Muse”.

Newcomer on the jewellery scene Joanna, 23, moved to London five years ago to follow her dream. Growing up between Lebanon and Paris, her multicultural upbringing enabled her to develop an unconventional sense of beauty. With a passion for art, instinctive understanding of materials and unique craftsmanship skills, Joanna has developed a true passion for Jewellery.

It was at the age of 15 she discovered the art of Jewellery making during a summer camp in the US, since then Joanna has been passionate about creating beautiful pieces with her unique signature style.

With a passion for gemstones and a strong design ethos, Joanna is a true designer/maker and hand-makes her collections from her workshop in Lebanon. Her debut collection is inspired by the poetic interaction of diverse shapes, colors and textures in Gustav Klimt's painting "The Kiss". Klimt's primary subject was the female body and his works are marked by a frank eroticism.

Joanna explores various assortments of circles and squares highlighted by a warm and glowing color palette in an attempt to recreate the sensuality and richness conveyed by the painting, incorporating silver with synthetic malaquite, lapis, coral and onyx.
