Castrol Race Academy Spotlights Gulf Drivers - Reality TV show tracks aspiring racing drivers; a Mideast first

For the first time in the Middle East, young aspiring racing drivers will get the chance to present their driving talents through a ground-breaking new reality TV show “The Castrol Race Academy” being shown across the Mideast on the leading TV station, MBC1.

Contestants are lining up in anticipation to become the region’s new motor racing superstar, while being closely supervised by professional mentors and followed by the cameras of Castrol Race Academy Show, which will abridge their daily activities, experiences and progress.

The seven-part reality TV show will be launched on Friday 26th October and aired every Friday on MBC1 at 7:30 pm, KSA Time. In Episode 1, an expert panel of instructors will put the contestants, aged between 18 and 25, through a series of driving and fitness tests to see if eligible to advance to the next stage of the competition and endure the fierce pace.

Regional competition heats in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain will reduce 150 enthusiastic competitors down to 30 before the final stages of the competition are held at the prestigious Bahrain International Circuit.

The overall winner will get the opportunity to follow a specially designed career pathway as a professional racing driver, created by an expert committee, in consultation with motor sports, business and marketing specialists, which will take into consideration all aspects of the winner’s lifestyle.

All Castrol Race Academy (CRA) participants are aged between 18 and 25 years old.  All CRA drivers are nationals of the G.C.C. (Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait). The first episode of Castrol Race Academy will be aired on MBC 1 at 7:30 pm, KSA Time, on Friday October 26.
