Cuban President Fidel Castro arrived in Tripoli on Wednesday for talks with Libyan leader Muammar Kadhafi on bilateral cooperation, Libyan television reported.
It is Castro's first official trip to Libya in 20 years. He was coming from Syria after visiting Algeria, Iran, Malaysia and Qatar.
The television station, monitored in Tunisia, showed Kadhafi welcoming Castro at the entrance of his residence in Al Azizia district in central Tripoli.
The two leaders later toured the ruins of a Kadhafi house bombarded by US planes in 1986 after the bombing of West Berlin's La Belle night club, in which two US soldiers died.
The US government blames Libya for the nightclub bombing. Kadhafi keeps the house in ruins as a symbol of what he calls "US state terrorism."
It was not immediately known how long Castro would stay in Libya -- TUNIS (Reuters)
