Careertunity.com, a leading online recruitment portal in the Middle East, has introduced a new package of comprehensive résumé services called the Career Services Suite. The suite includes Curriculum Vitae (CV) Evaluation and Cover Letter and CV Writing Services as well as Job Search and Application Guidance.
The recruitment and employment portal decided to launch the new services in response to results from the first-ever online poll it conducted recently which showed that 90 per cent of respondents are pursuing new, higher paying jobs. The survey of 400 respondents, most of whom are from the UAE, further revealed that 34 per cent expected pay hikes, reflecting last year's trend which saw salaries in the Emirates growing by an average of between 3.4 to 5.2 per cent and by an average of 6.9 per cent across the Middle East.
Around 42 per cent of those polled said that their present job was 'Challenging,' while 26 per cent found their work 'Enjoyable.' The poll also ranked Direct Hiring, Recruitment Agencies and Online Portals as the three most popular job search channels.
"Our new Career Services Suite aims to enhance the employability of candidates who refer to our portal for recruitment assistance. Our recent survey reveals that although the majority of the respondents find their work challenging and fulfilling, they still remain willing to move to other companies offering higher compensation. Career Services Suite allows jobseekers to reinforce their resume writing and application skills so that they can gain an advantage within the region's highly competitive and resilient job markets. Consultants involved in providing this service have years of experience with both offline and online recruitment medium. Their knowledge about online medium gives them an edge as they understand keyword optimization while crafting a CV which facilitates the CV being picked up by employers while they are searching online," said Sudeshna Mukherjee, General Manager, Careertunity.com.
UAE companies are expected to offer larger pay increases in 2010 given the solid economic growth being projected for the Middle East within the year. Raises and other strategies will have to be adopted to avoid losing talent to firms from other parts of the region. Dubai remains a hub for employment and new job opportunities, and so job and compensation trends in the emirate will continue to be closely monitored.
Careertunity.com recently conducted an open day at the University of Wollongong in Dubai to provide elements of its Career Services Suite for free. The portal offers various branding and recruitment options as well as regular online employment application services to an expanding base of regional and global clients and candidates. Careertunity.com's prominent pool of employers, which includes Cupola, Transmed, SRR, Alno, Technogym, has access to the portal's extensive database of around 200,000 applicant resumes.
