Careers UAE 2008, the largest recruitment, training and education event held exclusively for UAE nationals, is set to transform the country’s recruitment landscape by facilitating talented young Emiratis to promising careers with reputed companies in a variety of economic sectors.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the eighth edition of the event will bring together the nation’s top recruiters and thousands of job seekers under one roof at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, from 15-17 April. The biggest recruitment event in the UAE will also play a key role in contributing to the government’s efforts of integrating an increased number of UAE nationals into the private sector.
Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organiser of Careers UAE, said: “The UAE Government has initiated significant steps to widen the participation of nationals in the private sector, beginning with banking, finance and HR.
“Careers UAE 2008 will provide these major local and international companies with an opportunity to tap into the rich talent pool emerging from the country’s universities and colleges, giving them the required competitive edge, while driving Emiratisation into other sectors of the economy.”
As a unique platform, the event also showcases a diverse range of professional developmental courses offered by various academic and certified organisations. Designed to connect job seekers to the available career opportunities, the exhibition provides exciting networking possibilities, career leads, updates on a spectrum of companies, internship programmes as well as training and education opportunities.
Recording a 40 per cent growth in gross floor space to 14,000 sq meters, this year’s show will, for the first time, include a dedicated arena for the ICT industry. The financial services sector including banking, as well as real estate, insurance, hospitality, oil and gas and tourism companies will also be strongly represented at the event.
In addition, Careers UAE 2008 will host for the first time the ‘Young Entrepreneurs Competition’, in coordination with the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders. Students from different colleges and universities will participate in this competition that will select winners on the basis of their superior ability to sell their entrepreneurial concepts. On the sidelines of the show, workshops will be held to address issues related to employment and human resources.
Careers UAE 2008 is organised in conjunction with TANMIA, Emirates National Development Programme (ENDP), Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University and the UAE University.
