On Wednesday, a car bomb attack left at least one person dead and 20 others injured in the remote eastern city of Tobruk, near the Egyptian border, a Health Ministry official said.
In a separate incident, four people died after another car bomb attack outside an airbase in the city of al-Bayda.
In yet another incident, an airstrike killed four people in the eastern port city of Derna.
The string of attacks on Wednesday left over two dozen people wounded in the war-torn country.
The Tobruk blast appeared to have taken place close to the city’s intelligence headquarters.
Security measures have been stepped up for fear of further attacks in the city.
Tobruk is located some 1,600 kilometers (1,000 miles) east of Tripoli and was until recently the headquarters of Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thani's government, which has since moved to the nearby town of Shahat.
Libya plunged into chaos following the 2011 uprising that toppled longtime dictator, Muammar Gaddafi. The ouster of Gaddafi gave rise to a patchwork of heavily-armed militias and deep political divisions.
The Arab country has been witnessing numerous clashes between government forces and rival militia groups that refuse to lay down arms. The groups are now turning their guns on each other in an attempt to dominate politics and the country’s vast oil resources.
