At least 29 people are dead after a car bombing Friday in Syria's northern city of al-Bab, according to a monitoring group.

The incident comes a day after Turkish-backed rebels claimed full control of the city from the Daesh extremist militia.

The attack - in the district of Suesian in the north-western countryside near al-Bab - targeted local security facilities, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights added.

Dozens have been injured, the Britain-based watchdog says. So far, there has been no claim of responsibility.
