· Canon scanners win three out of four awards in scanner division
Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions, has been awarded three prestigious Spring 2008 “Pick” awards by Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), the world’s leading independent tester of document imaging products. Scoring particularly highly in reliability, the Canon imageFORMULA DR-2510C workgroup scanner, imageFORMULA DR-X10C mid-volume production scanner and Canon’s leading network scanner, the ScanFront 220P, were named Spring “Picks” by Buyers Laboratory in their respective categories.
BLI regularly acknowledges the very best performers with its twice yearly “Pick” awards, which are given to products that perform best in BLI’s proprietary tests. Devices are evaluated on a wide range of the most important performance factors for buyers, including reliability, ease of use, productivity and value.
“From the workgroup to production environments, Canon’s document scanners stand at the forefront of scanning innovation, delivering high-end features to satisfy real business needs,” said Sean Suematsu, European New Business Solutions Marketing Director, DIMS, Canon Europe. “Winning three out of four categories in the Buyers Lab awards’ scanner division is a terrific endorsement of the results of Canon’s history of innovation in digital imaging and scanning.”
Delivering cross-category excellence
Canon’s DR-2510C earned BLI’s “Pick” award for Outstanding Workgroup Scanner because of its excellent overall feature set and media-handling capabilities, as well as its very good overall ease of use and excellent value. “This unit also demonstrated nearly flawless OCR accuracy, even when scanning BLI’s challenging very light document,” noted BLI Research Editor Lisa Reider.
BLI found the ScanFront 220P enabled networked users to easily and securely scan using fingerprint authentication, naming it as its Outstanding Network Scanner. “With one-touch scan presets that can be conveniently located on the main screen of the unit’s colour touch-screen display, the ScanFront 220P sets a new benchmark for ease of use in this category,” said BLI Test Technician Joe Ellerman.
Canon’s first ever Mid-Volume Production Scanner, the DR X10C, was named Outstanding Mid-Volume Production Scanner thanks to its fast scanning speeds of up to 100 pages and 200 images per minute, excellent image processing features and outstanding ease of use.
