The Emirate's authorities have agreed to extradite to Canada a man accused by authorities in Canada of involvement in drugs and money laundering.

Recently, Canada asked Dubai to hand over the Canadian citizen, named Abdul Majeed Suleiman Khaleel. Due to the fact that there is no extradition treaty between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Canada, the issue was submitted to the Dubai Public Prosecutor to make a decision.

The public prosecutor has ordered that the accused be handed over to Canada, on condition the Canadian authorities provide a written undertaking that they would hand over any criminal if the UAE makes such a request, according to Gulf News

The Canadian authorities have agreed to this, saying that the UN agreement on combating trading in narcotics and drugs signed by the member countries in 1988, which include the UAE and Canada, provides the foundation for such a deal. (Albawaba.com)
