Foundation students from the Cambridge International School, Dubai enjoyed a five-week learning project called “The Patchwork Project”. The initiative aimed to cover the school outdoor playing area with shade by using various materials. Students were encouraged to bring any material available from home and use their creativity in this project.
The project helped students to share a stronger sense of belonging with the school community and feel proud of their contribution. The patchwork sheets are now on display in the school outdoor area and provide shade for everyone.
“The Patchwork project is an example of how a simple task can be transformed into an interesting initiative. It turned out to be a great demonstration of learning, creativity, student achievement and teamwork as seen on the patchwork sheets,” said, Kishwar Ali, Assistant Principal for The Foundation Stage and Key Stage One, Cambridge International School.
