United States President George W. Bush said Friday that he would announce his administration's new strategy to "move forward" the Middle East peace process following his upcoming meetings with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
Bush said he was optimistic that talks Friday and Saturday with Mubarak and a Monday meeting with Sharon would be fruitful.
"After my meetings... I'll talk to our country about how I believe we should move forward," the president said after a White House meeting about fighting terrorism on U.S. soil.
At this point, a senior U.S. official told AP, the focus of U.S. diplomacy is on instilling democracy in the Palestinian Authority while helping to build the state Bush has already endorsed. (Albawaba.com)
