United States Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs William Burns arrived Wednesday in Jordan. Burns and Jordan Prime Minister Ali Abu Ragheb held a meeting in which they discussed the regional situation, the kingdom’s television reported.
The talks dealt with the latest developments in the Middle East, specifically the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the means of putting the peace process back on track, the report added.
Jordan’s new minister of state for foreign affairs, Shaher Bak, also participated in the meeting. Burns began an official tour last week of six Arab countries, including Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. (Albawaba.com)
