ALBAWABA - Lebanon's Civil Defense teams are working hard to save people from under the rubble after a residential building collapsed in Tripoli city, northern Lebanon, on Sunday afternoon.
The Lebanese Civil Defense announced that the death toll from the collapse of an old residential building rose to nine, adding that this is the second such incident in the country's second-largest city in less than two weeks.

Civil Defense Director General Imad Khreich said that rescue teams recovered the bodies of nine people from under the rubble of the collapsed building, while 10 others were saved, six of whom were taken to hospitals.
He noted that the death toll could further increase as search operations continue.
It is worth mentioning that the collapse of the building happened in the Bab al-Tabbaneh neighborhood, one of Tripoli's poorest areas.
