buffalo gets gamers online at the touch of a button

Buffalo Technology has launched its Wi-Fi Gaming Access Point, a product which securely integrates Nintendo and Sony gaming consoles into existing home networks. Safe and simple, it allows gamers to get online to do battle with other players.

A preview sample showcased at Gitex this year, this new device plugs into any available port on a router on the home network, allowing established network settings to remain untouched while playing the likes of World of Warcraft and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.

Using Buffalo’s AOSSTM (AirStation One-Touch Secure System) technology, the access point manages different levels of security between popular consoles including Sony PSPTM, Sony PS3TM, Nintendo WiiTM, Nintendo DSTM and DS LiteTM.

Gerardine Lynch, EMEA Product Marketing Manager at Buffalo Technology, said, “We have developed the Wi-Fi Gaming Access Point in response to consumer demand for a simpler and more secure solution to facilitate online gaming. The access point eases the hassle of difficult WLAN security setup processes, enabling gamers to connect their console without having to worry about managing complex security settings.”
