The brother of Iran's supreme leader and director of the pro-reform Hayat-e-No daily, Hadi Khamenei, has been summoned to appear at Tehran's press court, the paper reported Sunday.
In Sunday's report, Khamenei said that although he was not aware of the "true reason" for the summons, he suspected that "several complaints had been filed against him by the judiciary."
The paper also cited a parliamentary source as saying that the summons had not directly been handed over to Khamenei, who belongs to parliament's reformist majority, but had been given to the legislature's office.
The summons by Tehran's press court was the second in recent months for Khamenei, a former radical turned reformist and brother of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
He also heads the Jahan-e-Eslam daily which is the official organ of the Association of Partisan Forces of the Imam (APFI), a group formed in 1997 at the time of moderate President Mohammad Khatami's election.
Hayat-e-No is one of the few reformist papers not to have been closed down in the past few months by the conservative-dominated courts in the wake of the reformists' capture of parliament in the February elections.
About two dozen publications, almost all of them reformist, have been suspended by the courts since April.
