The official website of the British royal family has reportedly fallen prey to a cyber assault, according to recent reports. A source from within the royal family confirmed this breach, stating that the website experienced a cyber attack.

This incident led to a disruption in access to the website for approximately an hour and a half, with normal access being restored later in the day.

The source emphasized that the responsible party behind the attack remains unknown, making it clear that it was not an instance of hacking; instead, there was a temporary inability to access the website's systems and content.

In an unexpected twist, the Russian hacker group known as "Killnet" claimed responsibility for executing a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on the royal family's website.

This incident coincides with earlier warnings issued by the United Kingdom's Deputy Prime Minister, Oliver Dowden, who had cautioned about Russia-linked hacker groups planning cyber assaults on businesses within the UK.
