Britain has pledged to do all it can to help the Greek Cypriot and the Turkish Cypriot sides reach a comprehensive settlement before the European Union (EU) summit, expected to be held in mid-December, London's special representative for Cyprus Lord David Hannay has said, cited by CNA news agency Sunday.
In a written statement upon departure following two days of talks in Nicosia, he said he came at a "very critical time for the settlement process" and added that there are still gaps to be bridged on most of the core issues under discussion before agreement can be reached, the agency concluded.
