British counterterrorism detectives said Sunday they have arrested a fourth person suspected to have been involved in the slaying of a Syrian imam, AP reported.

The 36-year-old man was arrested on charges of conspiracy in the murder of Abdul-Hadi Arwani, a Muslim cleric at al-Noor Mosque who was killed in London. The suspect was released on bail, Scotland Yard's Counter-Terrorism Command told AP.

The three other arrested suspects were a 53-year-old woman, a 61-year-old man and 36-year-old Leslie Cooper, who has already appeared in court.

Arwani, 48 years old, was a Syrian-born British national who was shot dead in his car in London's northwestern Wembley. Police are still investigating the motive behind his murder.
