Reuters reports that a suicide car bomb attack struck the Aden airport, the morning that Yemen peace talks are supposed to begin in Kuwait.

A car accelerated as it approached the airport checkpoint, and the policemen opened fire on the vehicle. The car exploded.

Five policemen are reported wounded. No casualties have been recorded at this time.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attempted attack.

Aden is the base of embattled President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, as the capital city Sanaa is controlled by Houthi rebels. Peace talks between the two groups are scheduled to start today in Kuwait.
