Matters of mutual interest and further expansion of commercial relations between Dubai and Brazil were discussed at a high-level meeting between Jafza officials and HE Jaques Wagner, the Governor of Bahia state of Brazil recently during his visit to Dubai.
The Governor was here at the head of a delegation of business leaders from the northeastern state.
The delegates met various officials from Jafza including Ibrahim al Janahi, Senior VP, Commercial Sales, Jafza and Steven Eames, EVP, Operations, Jafza International.
Introducing Jafza to the delegation Ibrahim Al Janahi explained the important role Jafza has played and continues to play in overall development of Dubai. He also shared Jafza’s dynamic business vision of creating a global platform of special economic zones, logistics parks and business parks, to facilitate international trade, industry and commerce across the world.
The delegation was given a presentation of Jafza's achievements and future plans, including the synergy that will be created when the Jebel Ali Airport is completed. The delegation was also given an extensive tour of the Jebel Ali Free Zone, and its various facilities.
Speaking to HE Wagner, Mr. Ibrahim Al Janahi said:
“Jafza is quite keen on enhancing business ties with Brazil. We are currently working with Senegal, an important economic partner to Brazil and to Jafza. This visit will help us engage in dialogue and pave the way for initiating mutually beneficial agreements. Jafza’s exceptional business model and immense experience has molded it into a powerful economic growth engine that we are now exporting with great success all over the world.”
“We are honoured by the welcome the Bahia delegation, and look forward to enhanced cooperation between Brazil and Dubai,” he added.

The North East State of Bahia with a population of 13.5 million is a prime link in the structural integration of Brazilian economy, both internally and internationally.
It has a highly developed industrial matrix comprising oil & gas, petroleum companies, car companies, agricultural diversity and huge mining potential.
Bahia government officials are currently heavily focused on enhancing public and private investment in infrastructure and logistics.
