Brahim Boulami earns Morocco its first gold medal in the Mediterranean Games

The Moroccan champion Brahim Boulami earned Morocco on Friday its first gold medal in the Mediterranean Games.

 

Boulami, who is the holder of the world record in 3,000m steeplechase, has won the 3,000 meter race, which was held in Almeria's Mediterranean Stadium on Friday, in 8:15.15. The bronze and silver medals were won by the Spaniard Antonio Jimenez Pentinel and the French Gael Pencreach, respectively.

 

<i>EMarrakech</i> reports that the race was held as part of the 15th Mediterranean Games held in Almeria, Spain, from June 24 to July 3.
