Boy charged with UK Southport stabbings, police arrests 100 protesters

ALBAWABA - A 17-year-old boy was charged with carrying out the stabbing attack which killed 3 little girls in Southport and the attempted murder of 10 others, AFP reported on Thursday. 

The three girls; Bebe King, 6, Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 9, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, were killed while at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. The suspect will stand in trial in Liverpool, England on Thursday.

The stabbing incident triggered wide violence in Southport on Tuesday and demonstrations erupted in multiple cities to protest the stabbing attack which killed three children. 

The British police said it has arrested over 100 people in London amid continuous protests after a 17-year-old stabbed 3 girls to death on July 29 as protests in many cities turned violent where demonstrators threw bottles at police officers.

Furthermore, AFP reported that police and properties were targeted in the clashes and protesters threw bricks at a mosque and set vehicles and other objects on fire.

Nonetheless, reports added that 53 policemen were injured, with at least eight were seriously wounded.
