An explosion, believed to be resulting from a booby-trapped car, occurred in west Jerusalem at 16:45 local time, reported Radio Israel.
The explosion took place near a bus station in Beit Israel neighborhood, Mea Shearim street.
An old woman, 65, is reported injured, while 9 were in a shock state, said the radio.
The area where the attack took place is inhabited by Orthodox Israelis, said the report.
Quoting Israeli police, AFP said Israeli police said they had arrested two suspects over the car bomb blast.
But the Jerusalem police chief mentioned no arrests in an interview following the attack.
“The investigation is in its initial stages and it's too early to announce how the bomb was operated,” said Miki Levy on the radio.
The top Jerusalem officer added that the police have more warnings on plans to plant bombs in Israel, but no specific information on when or where. He said the bomb was relatively a big one.
In an earlier report, Radio Israel said Prime Minister- elect Ariel Sharon sent Thursday a message to Palestinian President Yasser Arafat saying Israel has interest to go ahead with the peace process, but under one condition: a complete stop of violence – Albawaba.com.
