Boat capsize in Sudan's Nile River kills at least 21

ALBAWABA - Sudanese sources announced that at least 21 people were killed after a boat capsized in the Nile River in Sudan.

Yesterday, the Sudanese Doctors Network reported that a passenger ferry capsized on the Nile River in northern Sudan, resulting in the drowning deaths of 15 people and the rescue of six others. 

The media also mentioned that rescue teams and local residents are continuing their search for the remaining missing persons.

The Sudanese Doctors Network stated that the ferry was carrying more than 27 people, including women, children, and the elderly, traveling between the Tayba al-Khawad and Deim al-Quray areas in the Shandi locality of River Nile State, when it capsized under circumstances that have not yet been officially determined.

The statement added that "more than 15 bodies have been recovered so far, while local residents and the government's Civil Defense continue searching for the remaining victims," ​​noting that six people managed to survive the accident.
