The French bank BNP Paribas will to open its second Middle East International Trade Center in Manama on September 17, reported the Gulf Daily News on Wednesday.
The trade center, organized around a network of international trade experts and advisors and supported by a substantial global network, will provide tailor-made solutions for trading companies.
It is part of the bank's plan to open 80 trade centers on all five continents before the end of next year, said the paper.
Bahrain will be the 31st such center globally.
Electronic banking will be an integral part of the center, using Geolink technology for trade and cash management, the paper added.
The bank bills itself as the largest listed banking group in France, and the first in terms of net income.
It also identifies itself as the fourth largest bank in Europe in terms of stockholders' equity, and the bank with the second largest market capitalization in the euro zone – Albawaba.com
